Mike Capaldi is Owner of Versatile Collaboration LLC (a strategic consulting firm) and executive coaching practice (LeadingEdge) focused primarily in the life sciences sector. He is also a Senior Advisor for Penn Quarter Partners, a public affairs firm based in Washington D.C. where he consults with clients across the biopharmaceutical, diagnostics, and medical device industries. Lastly, he is the Executive Director for the Institute for Gene Therapies, a nonprofit advocacy coalition. 

Prior to these roles he had a successful 22-year career at Sanofi (Genzyme) and most recently was the Head of US Public Affairs & Patient Advocacy for the Oncology, Transplant and Consumer Health Care units.

Mike has a broad set of experiences including Public Affairs/Advocacy, Government Relations, Policy and Corporate Social Responsibility. He has interfaced with a broad range of healthcare stakeholders  including patient advocacy organizations, trade associations and scientific societies. He also worked within the commercial organization in Sales, Training and Development where he was responsible for the professional development of over 10,000 field and headquarter-based employees. Mike also served as President of the Society of Pharmaceutical and Biotech Trainers (now L-TEN) in 2010‑11.

Mike completed his undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University and obtained a Masters in Education for corporate training and knowledge management. Most recently he  earned a certification in Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance at American University in Washington D.C. and has acquired an Associate Coaching Certificate from the International Coaching Federation.

Finally, Mike serves on the Board of Directors for two non-profit organizations, Healthy Women and The Certified Medical Representative Institute.
